Many beauty school students graduate and enter the real world of the salon without the knowledge to build a clientele and be productive, profitable stylists. Sadly, many of these students have great artistic ability, yet leave the industry because they simply cannot earn enough money to live on.
Certainly there is a great deal of technical knowledge to be passed on to our students, however, the practical, business building portion of the curriculum is every bit as important if we are to produce well rounded students who can go into a salon and be an asset to the owner and business in general.
Better students mean an all round better industry, which, in turn means more students and more profitable schools.
FACT: There are very few text books that include interesting materials for the student to help them build a clientele.
FACT: Many instructors find it difficult to find appropriate material for this portion of the course.
FACT: Many instructors feel that this side of the business is very boring both for them to teach and for the students to learn.
“Waiting for the Busy Bus” is the ideal guide for the instructor to teach from. Also for the student to take into the salon once they graduate.
The following Canadian Government schools incorporating cosmetology departments use Busy Bus as a text book.
B.C. Vancouver Technical School
B.C. Burnaby School Board
B.C. North Vancouver School Board
B.C. Richmond School Board
N.S. Nova Scotia Community College
Instructors love the content and find it fun and easy to teach.
Quote from award winning instructor:-
"Finally, straight forward, step by step information for success in the cosmetology field.
A must-have for school teachers to prepare their students for meaningful careers.
This book is exactly what all cosmetologists have been hoping for, I never would have expected such a clear concise work of knowledge.
I can't thank you enough for making my teaching so much more meaningful."
—Janna McCullough, Teacher of the Year, 2005
